really really bad consumer service by phone and by internet. Long waiting and supper bad web site with many errors. And they just made a huge and strange mistake on my premium. Worst of all, I enrolled with my selected PCP, then they randomly changed my PCP to another doctor. where can we go to file official complaints about them? I am on the phone for half an hour and nobody answers, and the... Read more

Do not purchase this insurance. The minute you need coverage for anything beyond routine care they will deny your claim. You are better off saving your money and deciding what to pay for when you need it. Do not depend on UHC to cover you. Their representatives are not helpful and will misguide you wasting valuable treatment time. I have paid for a policy for a family of four over more than... Read more

I have had UHC for years, and had an accident that was covered under my policy. They denied the claim. I asked to speak to a manager. They got me to a guy named Jay Low. Jay was a real ***. He told me that I was unintelligent and that I should have spent more money on a policy. I told him that I would take the company to court, he laughed and told me I couledn't even afford a suit. STAY... Read more

I received a note after filling my prescription for the Lidocaine Patch with the disingenuous opening: "Why you are getting a temporary supply". But the next sentence was: "We won't continue to pay for this drug after you have received the maximum 31 days supply that we are required to cover." Zap. No reason given. I can no longer get coverage for the one medicine that can control my pain.... Read more

As an employer we recently signed up for UHC because ON PAPER the coverage was supposed to be better than the coverage we had. It has been two months and EVERY WEEK I have employees in my office for the same reason, DENIED DENIED DENIED!. They even denied my diabetic prescription saying it was too high of a dose. When I explained that I am not even on a high dose they then stated that it was my... Read more

LIARS!! I spent hour upon hour researching insurance providers at Open Enrollment. United Healthcare seemed to be the one I'd choose. To assure that my healthcare would be covered as I have several specialists, I called United Healthcare THREE times to confirm that my specialists are in network with my PCP. United Healthcare confirmed each time that yes, indeed, the specialists are in network... Read more

I called 3 times to confirm that I have a zero copay on prescriptions. Three different customer service employees confirmed that was correct. They were all wrong. In small print in a different section of my documents it says that the medical deductible applies to prescriptions. In the prescription coverage it says zero copay. It does not say zero copay after deductible. Very misleading!... Read more

My daughter has been on the same medication for a condition since she was 7. She is now 17. My company recently switched to United Healthcare and due to the number of pill prescribed by her doctor we are required to get a pre-authorization. I have gone through this process with other insurance companies over the past 10 years and with only one exception (anther employer but also UHC as insurer),... Read more
