I recently spent an enormous amount of time attempting to get UHC to pay back $144 it overcharged me in medication co-payments because a clerk in my doctor's office inserted a decimal point that did not belong in my dosage for a drug. I have a high-deductible plan from United Health Care. I live in NYC. My wife sees her healthcare specialists frequently. I went to my family doctor in February for my yearly wellness exam which is covered 100% per my plan and per Obama Care. My doctor also ordered some preventative blood work done to check my levels. I was shocked when my insurance failed to pay 100% of my blood work. First they said that the doctor sent it in with the wrong codes. Made The Correct Payment On Time, UHC Denied Payment Was Made. My bank gave me a copy of my deposited and cleared check by UHC. Heard several other friends on UHC also had the same exact problem. Other person I know had the same problem and UHC sent her a cancellation notice even though all her payments were made correctly and on time. Very unpredictable and unreliable company. The persons... I contributed $3000 to my Flexible Spending Account and mailed my claim to them to get my money back. I sent it Express Mail so it would guarantee arrival before the filing deadline. Apparently, the training for United Healthcare outsourced locations of employment is very very poor, many many Providers are having problems having Billing Problems addressed and fixed, We can't even ask for an onshore Representative anymore, We have exhausted our efforts trying to speak to a properly trained Customer service representative, we are 28 physician practice. they mixed up my claims and try to get other insurance to pay even though the state is one that only uses your own insurance. They try to force you to use optum rx even though they screwed up the prescription with delays and other problems.
