I had just got off the phone with UCHC. My issue was my refill for promethezine. First, I was told to call back in two to three hours. I refused to do that. Second, I was eventually transferred to someone who knew what they were talking about. Finally, I wad told that I have to wait until at least Saturday before I can try to refill it again. I have received a myriad of information and misinformation from member services every time I call UHC. The representatives there are not well trained. I and my Dr's office have been trying to figure out why the Dr. is no longer a participating physician. The last conversation I had with UHC, the rep said the system showed the Dr's office was closed. The office is clearly open at the same address... Read more

In general my experience with UHC this year has been abysmal. Wrong answers, misinformation, condescending representatives. This particular unit is located in Texas. I do not believe they understand what customer service means in that State. When they hear I am from NYC they take the most obnoxious tone. Texas had once said they wanted to secede from the United States and form their own country.... Read more

I would make a complaint to you to NY State Dept of Insurance. I get my insurance through New York State of Health (Obamacare) and have had many problems with United Health Care. The people I talk to from this company are in Texas. I have a wonderful physician who has been participating in United Healthcare Community plan. This year, for some reason, the insurance company has no record of the Doctor being a participant. I submitted my claims with receipts ( original) and everything they asked. So annoying that I made a "template" letter, and submitted it. I saved and scanned everything I sent. I have an outstanding money owed to me about $800. In context, it's not much, but considering I paid a lot monthly, this is outrageous. Spent 4 weeks, 20 hours on the phone trying to change PCP. A simple change, same type of doc, same city, same insurance. Every time I call, I speak to someone new, and they are unable to facilitate my request. UHC manages my employer's FSA accounts. Approximately 50% of my FSA claims were disputed or rejected. My Orthopedic surgeon ordered an MRI after he did an x-ray of my knee an found the meniscus in my knee pretty much gone. I am 78 years old and currently can hardly walk and am in a lot of pain. United Health keeps denying the procedure and tells me I have to go to physical therapy for 3 weeks, even though the physical therapist won't touch me without an MRI and physical therapy is the worst thing...
