They are a very bad insurance company. I would suggest everyone looking for insurance don't get it from them. Rather have no insurance then have them. My dad is stuck for a 1 in coma and we can't get him transferred to another hospital. He was out of state and had a brain stoke. I have had nothing but problems with GEHA/United Healthcare Insurance. Wife emergency admitted to hospital spent two days, doctors ran test MRI and other imaging items. All while in the hospital under doctors care. That was 2015, when now have a bill from the provider of nearly $5,000.00 because GEHA/United Healthcare denied the claim for MRI and other imaging. I submitted a claim on my flexible spending account for $70.00 I paid. Received check for $40.00. Called twice, this last time I was on the phone being transferred about 7 times, disconnected, given another number which was my companies phone number. Finally talked to someone who stated I could not get refunded my $30.00 until I submit detailed description. I already submitted the EOB from B/C B/S, which clearly stated it was for refraction... The last thing I expected when I called the number on a notice from United Heath Care was to find I would be speaking to someone from Jamaica that could access all of my personal financial information when I only provided my name. I called what was the Technical Support Help Desk at 1-877-844-4999 because I received a notice that did in fact come from UHC. So we acquiree coverage from United Healthcare on Jan. 1. We changed mental health providers to someone who accepted UHC because gwnerally not taking your medication is BAD. Now in July, seven months after changing, our mental health provider kindly asked us to call UHC as they weren't being paid. Their provider directory full of false information. Example their ENT doctor directory lists almost 40 specialists in the 50 miles area , but only 1 (yes one) ENT specialist accepts it. Then he does the small procedures in the hospital ( most ENT doctors do it in their office) and costs me and insurance much much more.It is not ENT , you are lucky to find any specialists in the area. Ive had United health care for 3 months now. My child had a ear infection it took 5 days to finally get a prescription filled/ covered by this insurance. I would give them a 0.

Customer service will lie and lie and lie. They literally told me they were gonna fix were they charged me months after i cancelled bc since the state was still sending my credit they kept my account active even though i personally called them and cancelled. So yay what a giant fine ill get at the end of the year. Not to mention they told me to wait 5 days for the mistaken charge to come off my account therefore i didnt touch a penny of my money...
