United Health Care first approved referral for diabetic dietary assessment, training, and assistance. The day of the, appointment they changed thier minds and recinded their approved referral. This after assurances that the appointment was covered. Have had an issue with United Health Care "Eye coverage" That does not exist. I had been told that I was covered and then received a bill for the entire amount as it was an non covered service for my children and Mine was applied to the deductable. So my Daughter had some imaging done in February 2015. Suddenly, i receive a bill 14 months later.. Shocked, i call the imaging company, they say that the claim was mishandled and so they re-filed. United HealthCare gives me a long drawn out mistake that occurred between the (2) companies. So between the (2) companies going back and forth, they decided to send me the bill 14 months later!!!! We've had UHC for more years than i care to remember. As a Customer Service Manager and Fraud Investigator for almost 20 years, I simply cannot comprehend WHY UHC insists on manning their phones with people who do not have an ounce of logic or common sense. Very poor insurance company This is two days before my surgery I got a call from the nurse and she just told me my surgery is cancelled because United Healthcare won't approve it. My family has asked for time off work to help me recover all my arrangements are made and now United Healthcare wants me to have another opinion. I have had 3 opinions I'm out $ 500.00 in copays it's just all about money for this company they are rude and uneducated.... Read more

Sucks I need surgery and United Healthcare won't cover it. They want more tests done even though my surgeon has appealed the decision and been on the phone with them for hours. My life and health does not matter to them. It's all about money. Add comment

I have made 17 phones calls, talked with 5 different Supervisors (some of those several times) over a 9 month period of time as to why they have not paid a claim for one of my Doctors. I've been lied to by 3 of the Supervisors, Repeatedly told they didn't have the correct information, when they did and on and on. I receive a specialty medication. I received a letter saying I would be contacted about the change and to set up my medication. I was told I could not refill my medication. Spent two hours on the phone trying to get my medication. Is this even legal? My question is whether this is United's attempt to save money by indirectly making it difficult if not impossible to continue expensive medication. If I have a concern I can write to the company... The phone contact numberS give an automated voice that asks questions but does NOT understand what you want and keeps asking for the same information even after you have entered it on the keypad correctly and said YES at least two or 10 times. This is frustrating and unacceptable. I prefer a "CALL LATER" message than to waste 30 minutes of my time just to be asked once again "in a few words, please tell me what you need" and feel frustrated.... Read more
