Customer service nightmare | United Healthcare review

This month was my first month on Medicare and a Supplemental Plan through United Healthcare. I received an email stating I could register online to follow my account. This registration process requires a member ID number. I put in my AARP member number and it rejected it. I looked high and low for a card or letter with my number for the Supplimental Plan, thinking it might be different from the AARP number. I was unable to find one. I Googled for a customer service number for United.i called that number and got a very nice person who gave me an app to download and a web site to visit as well as a phone number. Neither the web site nor the app worked. I called the phone number and got someone that said I was totally in the wrong place and that everything the first person gave me was for New York State. I live in the south. She transferred me. The phone was answered with rustling paper sounds and no response to repeated, "hello" from me. I hung up and dialed again and got a person who gave me a number. I called it and it was an automated make a choice menu nightmare. I ordered a "replacement" ID card, having to wait 7-10 days. But I was hopping mad, and resorted to calling my insurance agent, who gave me yet another number to call. I called it. That person gave me my ID number. I knew it should be easy. So I went back to the original email and tried to register through the clicker here to "register" button. My ID number worked. I had to setup a use rid, so according to its own protocol, I used my email address. According to its own protocol, I setup a password, verifying it. Then it displayed my email address and asked that I confirm it, which I did, nearly ten times. Kept telling me my email address did not match my email address. Well, I am thorough irritated with United a Healthcare. I haven't even used the insurance, yet, and am now looking forward to even more harassment, when that inevitable event comes around. It took over an hour to make all the calls and at least 1/2 trying to register. I gave up. Good luck out there.

Don't try to get the covered hearing aids | United Healthcare review from Mchenry, Illinois

They send you to Epic after claiming they cover 80% after the deductible. Epic is nothing but a runaround. They send you to shady places and cover almost nothing if you can get them to cover anything at all. Expect high pressure sales and the same prices a person off the street pays. Call United and get the run around some more. More endless holds and then they hang up on you if you ask to speak to a supervisor. The customer service is appalling. Nobody knows anything. After spending a half hour on the phone explaining over and over they hang up so you have to call back and start all over. If you have a choice do not choose this company.

They are Deniers of legitimate services. | United Healthcare review from Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Almost feel like you have to beg them to approve tests that your doctor recommends. I am not a big fan of them so far. I feel like I am talking to a wall with them. You have to get your blood pressure up fighting with them over getting a stress test for your heart. My doctor had to call them three times and still no approval. I guess they want me to have a heart attack and go to the emergency room before they will approve the test. Is really sad situation. I will update to let you know if I ever got approved or not.

UHC - They give you the round about | United Healthcare review

I saw an APN MD nurse who prescribed medication. I was then charged as if I saw a specialist. I did not even see the shadow of a specialist so disputed this charge. UHC looked into it and communicated that they had addressed the issue and did not need to worry about it. A year after visiting the nurse, I get a statement that I owe the additional co-payment for seeing a specialist. I called UHC and communicated the issue. They gave me some story from Disneyland and stated that because the APN works under the umbrella of a specialist then she can charge me as a specialist. My counter argument was, well then the garbage person can charge me as a specialist since he works under the umbrella of the specialist. I called the service provider and communicated the issue. The service provider stated that I was right and I should only be charged the co-payment for a regular doctor. The statement that I received is because UHC has communicated to service provider the charge that I need to pay. I am so disappointed with UHC.

Unable to solve solve issue. No follow up | United Healthcare review from Garland, Texas

United Heath Care has AWFUL and I do mean AWFUL customer service. Since returning from Hong Kong I needed to get health insurance. What a job it has been to get them to take my money and possibly get me signed up (possibly). I won't go into details. Bottom line: NO customer service. One can NOT email them, unless you get special permission from a supervisor. They are too busy to deal with issues. If you have one it is your responsibility to follow up. You should KNOW insurance ease and know what to ask at what point. Ridiculous! Unless you must use United Heath Care run from them. Perhaps all insurance companies are the same, I don't know. It looks like that I will go with out coverage for a short time due to their incompetency and inability to get a fax from their mail room on to the system. I can, of course, pay full price to doctors should I need to see a doctor until they get this issue fixed. They will reimburse me. I am sure this would take a minimum of 6 weeks. This system is broken. I know I am singing to the choir as many of you already know this. I am seeing red. I have done what they asked me to do. Most of the time on the day the request was made others the next day. It was not good enough. One month is not enough time to get a policy........

Highest Montly = worst sevices | United Healthcare review from Charlotte, North Carolina

I cannot give them 1 star. My monthly payment is $344.44 with UHC. Since I subscribed healthcare.gov. UHC and his customer representatives provide me the worst service I have never had. Since February 2015 to present , I was at the hospital in February and I had a bill for $65 , $85,etc... They denied to pay. Because I didn't have a referral order/authorization. My PCP care sent them (faxed and electronicaly) referral authorization and I also mailed and faxed an appeal every 15 days until now. When I call I got the same response every 15 days with different representative <"YOUR REQUEST WAS DENIED BECAUSE YOU DON"T HAVE A REFERRAL.BUT I AM MAKING A NOTE AND WE WILL CALL YOU BACK ">.. Believe me I have never heard from them. The only information I can receive from them is to remind me to my monthly payment. I have received from the hospital many final notice since March. Today I received the last called from my hospital that my case is transferred to COLLECTION. Honestly, I regret to have UHC insurance. Highest montly payment = worst services. keep in my all health in

I am a independent agent. United Health Care and Golden Rule are under United Health Care.

The only difference is United Health Care is used only for groups, and on individual basis it is Golden Rule. Hope that helps!

WRONG PLAN-NO COVERAGE FOR NEW EYE GLASSES | United Healthcare review from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

1.0
Details
am really pissed off-I suppose this is just a vent blog as I really don't believe Anyone can make a difference here-I have bad vision with cataracts growing in both eyes-this most recent exam shows that my vision has remarkably changed-especially in my right eye. I went to eyemart express to get a new pair of glasses but it shows that my coverage does Not cover eye glasses and materials Just an exam-I am going to try to appeal the decision-The kicker of all of this is that the young snippy girl from UHC Determination Dept had such a bad *** attitude that I was ready to hang up on her-She as well as ALL of the customer service reps are Supposed to set a good professional example and i am LIVID as how they can get away with keeping these service people employed-There is NO respect anymore-just hateful spoiled low life KIDS with no decent upbringing anymore-I will continue my journey as long as I am alive to help make a better world for the UHC insured seniors

I PAY FOR MY DENTAL CARE........... | United Healthcare review from Milwaukee, Wisconsin

I NEED 2 DOUBLE TOOTH BRIDGES, ONE ON THE LOWER LEFT AND 1 ON THE UPPER RIGHT, PLUS A SINGLE TOOTH ON THE BOTTOM RIGHT. UHC WANTS TO PAY FOR PARTIALS, BECAUSE THEY ARE CHEAPER. REALLY, I DON'T WANT PARTIALS. ITS NOT LIKE I AM MISSING SEVERAL TEETH ON THE BOTTOM, TOP OR ANY ROW OF TEETH ANYWHERE. i AM ONLY 54 YEARS OLD AND HAVE ALL MY ORIGINAL TEETH WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE MISSING 5, ONE OF WHICH HAS BEEN GONE SINCE i WAS 10 YEARS OLD. THEY HAVE AN IGNORANT DENTIST WHO IS FOOLISH TO THINK THAT PUTTING IN A PARTIAL AND THERE BY ABRADING THE TEETH AROUND IT IS A GOOD IDEA. IS THAT SAVING THEM ANY MONEY? NO IT WILL COST THEM MORE IN THE LONG RUN. I'M NOT HAVING IT.
