I went to my family doctor in February for my yearly wellness exam which is covered 100% per my plan and per Obama Care. My doctor also ordered some preventative blood work done to check my levels.
I was shocked when my insurance failed to pay 100% of my blood work. First they said that the doctor sent it in with the wrong codes. Then they told me that none of the test conducted, even for anemia or cholesterol were not preventative. I am stuck with a $300 bill to have my blood checked.
Not for any diagnoses, only to make sure that I am OK on the inside.
Why is it my job to check which codes the insurance company will pay for and which ones it won't? Why do I even pay for insurance when the government guarantees so many tests are free now?
